Competition

Due to the global impact of COVID-19, We have a new category for all musician.
Free style video

  • There are no restrictions on video.
  • Support one-man band, ensemble from home, online ensemble, home orchestra...etc.

You can choose "Free style" in the instrument list of solo application; or
Input "Free style" in the "ensemble type" of ensemble application.

  • The events include keyboard instruments, string and wind instruments and vocal. We also accept other instruments and different ethnic instruments.
  • Participants may perform in forms of solo, ensemble or teams.

Ages and categories

  • Participants are categorised by ages. No age limitation is imposed.
  • For ensemble groups, the age category takes the average age of the members (i.e. dividing the total age of members by the number of members)

    Category H Amateurs aged 22 or above

Content of performance

  • There is no limitation on the work or content choice for performance. Participants can choose a piece of work to perform freely. Only one piece of work shall be performed in the submitted video. Participants need to fulfill the time limitation requirement of their respective age category.
  • There is no limitation on the time of performance of all categories, and the time of the video should not exceed 20 minutes.
  • Participants can play by memory or not.

Competition procedure

First round

  • The competition takes place in form of video submission. The performance will be judged according to the participant’s performance skills, musical sense and the overall performance. Outstanding performers will be awarded a Merit or Distinction certificate. All participants can apply for a certificate of participation.
  • Merit or Distinction participants are qualified to participate in the second round of the competition.
  • The 'Most Popular Video Award' will be awarded to the participant with the most ‘liked’ video.
  • Competition fee: Free for the 2023 competition
  • Other fees: Certificates (including Merit, Distinction and certificate of participation) application fees and postage €25 .

Second round

  • Participants entering the second round may use the submitted video in first round, or submitting another video for the competition. The application details will be sent to the advanced participants via email.
  • All participants will be awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze and Merit awards according to their standard of performance (no limitation on the number of recipients for each award). They will be awarded certificates and prizes (trophies or medals). (Postage at participants’ own cost.)
  • One winner will be selected from each age category and instrument category. Winners will be invited to participate in the finals.
  • Competition fee: €85  (2023)

Finals

  • The finals take place in different cities around the globe each year. Participants will perform at the venue and compete for the title of ‘Annual Overall Champion’. The details will be announced in due course.
  • The application details and procedures will be sent to the advanced participants via email.

About Payment and Postage

  • Once all payments have been made, no refund will be given for any reason.
  • In special circumstances approved by the committee, the payment platform and credit card center will charge a management fee of 5 euros for refunds.
  • Trophies and certificates that cannot be deliver will not be sent again under any circumstances. Please check your postal address carefully before sending the package.
  • For all packages returned to us, the applicant wishes to arrange for re-mailing, and all related postage shall be borne by the applicant.
